These owl marks, used from 1893 to 1984 for non-treaty imports, are accompanied by other indistinct stamps, possibly identifying the maker. Because the owl mark is strictly an import mark, the chain was manufactured outside France, possibly in Belgium, Italy, or Switzerland, and imported between 1893 and 1984.
