This Victorian star pendant, dating to circa 1890, masterfully represents celestial symbolism in antique jewellery. Stars were popular motifs in Victorian-era jewellery, often symbolising guidance, aspiration, and eternal connection.

Crafted from repurposed components, the star features a lustrous half-pearl at its centre, surrounded by 8 sparkling rose-cut diamonds that radiate brilliance. A vibrant blue enamel border enhances the star’s striking design, reflecting the Victorian love for intricate and colourful details.

The star, originally part of an antique 12-carat gold stick pin, has been thoughtfully converted into a pendant. It measures 15mm in diameter and is complemented by a newly fitted handmade 18-carat gold round bail with a 7mm external diameter. The star itself has been tested for its gold purity as 12-15ct gold, with the higher reading leading us to believe there may be some lead filling in the centre of the star behind the split pearl, consistent with its era.

Pair it with an antique chain or attach it to your charm holders and watch chain clasps.  There are multiple ways you will love styling this beautiful antique conversion piece.
